Tulare County wrapped up its annual Academic Decathlon competition today, and once again, our team did a great job representing our school. We matched our medal total from last year of 27 total medals (10 Gold, 5 Silver, 12 Bronze). Not only that, but we took first place in each math division AND top math score out of all of the competing schools! Pretty impressive considering the schools that we face. I believe that this is the first year since I took over that someone outside of Harmony took top overall Math score and the first year that they didn’t get a gold medal in math!
Cristian Figueroa - 1 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals
Jennifer Pacheco - 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze medals
Osvaldo Rodriguez - 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals
Jaifreen Bhangu - 3 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze medals. Jaifreen also earned the top overall Math score.
Yexai Guillen - 1 Gold and 1 Bronze medals
Joanna Aguilera - 2 Gold and 2 Bronze medals
Jesus Ochoa - 1 Bronze medal
Xitlalli Najera - 2 Bronze medals
Here is a picture of the team, minus Jesus (he was at a Skills USA competition, but medaled in the Interview competition from last weekend).
